Soroptimist makes donation to Helping Hands of Mariposa

Soroptimist International of Mariposa recently made a donation to Helping Hands of Mariposa.

Helping Hands is a pregnancy and parenting center located in Oakhurst and Mariposa, offering confidential pregnancy tests and classes in childbirth and parenting.

Baby and children’s clothing/supplies are available through an “earn as you learn” program.

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment, specifically those facing significant obstacles.

In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education and donating funds and services to local organizations.

Soroptimist International of Mariposa is currently seeking new members.
