Yosemite High School girls Varsity Softball team suffered their closest defeat since April 2 when they fell just short of the Sierra High School Chieftans by a score of 9-7 at Sierra on April 25.

Morgan Ramsey was a standout behind the plate, said Coach Kristina Garrett, going four-for-four with four doubles and three RBI.

Yosemite is going to have to get the bats going and fight through errors if they want to come away with a win during their rematch against the Chieftans,” said the coach ahead of the game.

But it wasn’t to be and the Badgers suffered another loss to the Chieftans with a final score of 14-7 at Sierra on May 3.

Audrey Mercier went two-for-three with a double and a single while Morgan Ramsey went one-for-two with a single and an RBI. Arabella Hunter went one for one with a double.

That drops the Badgers to a 3-7 record so far this season.

The Yosemite Badgers team was set to face its toughest competition on May 3 when they played the Liberty Hawks.
