Sierra Connect Summit is Oct. 1-2

The Sierra K16 Collaborative has announced the upcoming Sierra Connect Summit, taking place Oct. 1-2, at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown.

This event is free and will bring together educators, students, employers, community leaders and community members to explore innovative strategies that align education and workforce development in the Sierra Region.

The two-day event will feature keynote speaker Mark C. Perna, breakout sessions and networking opportunities designed to strengthen collaboration between schools, colleges and industry partners.

The summit aims to ensure every student has the tools and support needed to graduate career-ready and thrive in today’s evolving workforce.

Highlights of the event will include:

• Keynote sessions with Mark C. Perna

• Technology showcase: featuring Paxton Patterson, Zspace and Anatomage

• Hands-on pathway mapping: focused on healthcare, education and computer IT

• Sierra K16 Collaborative Executive Steering Council breakout

• Student and employer panel

• Hands-on training with the CaliforniaColleges.edu platform

• Guided team planning and pathway development

• Career exploration and academic alignment tools with the CCGI Team

The Sierra K16 Collaborative is a regional initiative bringing together K-12 schools, community colleges, universities and industry leaders to improve education-to-career pathways in the Eastern Sierra Region.

The collaborative is focused on ensuring that students graduate with the skills, support and opportunities they need to succeed.
