The Grizzlies hosted the squad from Hilmar on Aug. 15 for a scrimmage at MCHS.

Our guys came out focused and the intensity was high throughout the scrimmage,” Pometta said.

That was the biggest thing that stood out to us coaches. We had a great week of practice, and that showed up on the field.

As the football program continues to grow, so does the depth in the roster.

Our depth will be a big strength throughout the season,” the coach continued.

We are deep at every position and that showed during the scrimmage.

The scrimmage with Hilmar showed what the Grizzlies can work on as the regular season approaches.

There’s always things to work on,” Pometta said.

We will implement corrections from the scrimmage throughout the upcoming week. Our guys have shown they are great at making adjustments and they come to practice everyday wanting to get better.

The Grizzlies will travel to Oakhurst on Friday, Aug. 22 to face the Badgers from Yosemite High School. JV will play at 5 p.m. followed by varsity at 7 p.m.
