Mariposa County Parks & Rec is busy preparing for the spring and summer months.
Rec & Roll
Parks & Rec will setup activities for play dates in the park for ages two to five during the months of April and May on Tuesdays, from 10-11 a.m.
Rec & Roll will be at the Mariposa County Park April 1, April 8, May 6, May 13 and May 20.
The group will be at Woodland Park April 15 and May 27.

Yoga in the park
Yoga in the park will be taking place during the months of April and May on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 p.m. at Mariposa County Park.
Participants should be age 13-up and all levels are welcome.
Each class is $5, or $20 for a five class pass. Bring your own mat, props and water.
Classes are weather permitting and there will be no class April 22 and April 24.

Lifeguard Training
Sign up now for the American Red Cross certified Lifeguard Training Course.
Classes will take place on April 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mariposa County pool.
The fee is $250, which will be waived for those seeking employment with Mariposa County Parks & Rec.
Prerequisite testing will take place April 18 at 1 p.m.
Anyone interested in taking the course must be 15-up years of age and be able to swim 150 yards.
Anyone taking the course should also be able to tread water for two minutes without using hands, swim 50 more yards (timed) and retrieve a 10 pound object from seven-10 feet deep.

A parent signature is required for anyone under the age of 18.
Swim instructor training course
Interested in becoming a swim instructor? Mariposa County Parks & Rec is offering a Swim Instructor Training Course at Mariposa County pool.
Prerequisite testing will take place on April 18 from 2:30-3:00 p.m.
The Swim Instructor training course will take place April 24 and 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fee is $200 but will be waived for those seeking employment with Mariposa County Parks & Rec.
Anyone interested in taking the course must be 16 or older and swim at a level four or higher.
Participants must be able to demonstrate front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke for 25 yards, butterfly for 15 yards, back float for one minute and tread water for one minute.

Anyone under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent signature.
