We had a couple kids who stumbled out of the blocks but they didn’t give up,” Perez said.

As they get their times we want them to improve over their season best or personal best, that’s a win even if they don’t make the podium.

The meet at Yosemite High School was a chance for athletes to see where they stand.

I’m glad we had this meet so they could get some times in,” Perez said.

It’ll make them more competitive so they’ll be seeded with athletes who have similar times to them.

The team traveled to Golden Valley High School in Merced on March 7 for the 17th Annual Dean Andreessen Classic with over 20 teams in attendance.

These meets are good preparation for league,” Perez said.

The first Southern Athletic League meet took place on Wednesday, March 11 at Waterford High School.

Results for the first league meet were not available at press time.

Next up, the team will travel to Waterford for a second time for their second league meet of the season on March 25.

Events begin at 2 p.m.
