Where everybody knows her name

Sue Peacock was doing some last minute Christmas deliveries last week in Mariposa. Most people probably don’t even know Sue’s last name — and for good reason. Around these parts, she is known as “UPS Sue.” If you say that moniker, it’s safe to say nearly everybody knows her name. She’s been delivering for UPS for 25 years in the Mariposa area and is closing in on 40 years with the company. However, she is also known for “UPS Sue and her Dancing Crew,” a line dancing troupe that performs at many area events throughout the year. If you look close at the cart, that name is on there and it was made for her by the FFA team at Mariposa County High School. Last week, she was doing some final Christmas deliveries and said of this holiday season: “It’s going good.”
