JAIL BOOKING REPORT
Here are some of the highlights from the recent booking reports at the Mariposa County Jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 21 – Kevin Roberto Gomez Miranda, 31, Antioch, was arrested for DUI. •
Sept. 22 – Thomas Riley Norlund, 34, Mariposa, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with two priors, possession of unlawful paraphernalia and a probation violation.
Sept. 23 – Phillip Stephen Martella, 61, Mariposa, was arrested for possession or purchase of a controlled substance or narcotic drug with the specific intent to sell, transporting a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with two priors, possession of unlawful paraphernalia and being under influence of a controlled substance.
Sept. 24 – Jammy Lou Stevens, 56, Mariposa, was arrested for child abuse and giving false information to a police officer.
Sept. 25 – Jeremy James Brown, 39, Coulterville, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with two priors, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and giving a police officer false registration.
Sept. 26 – No bookings.

SHERIFF’S REPORT
Sept. 21 – Unsafe shooting was reported in Ponderosa Basin. • There was a juvenile refusing to obey on Ben Hur Road in Mariposa.
Sept. 22 – The coroner was called to Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park. • Animal cruelty was investigated on Dogtown Road in Greeley Hill.
Sept. 23 – Harassment was reported on Highway 140 in Catheys Valley. • Vandalism was investigated on Barret Cove Road in Don Pedro. • A sexual assault was reported on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • Petty theft was reported on Ernst Road in Greeley Hill.
Sept. 24 – Petty theft was reported on Wagner Road in Greeley Hill. • Petty theft was reported on Lakeview Road in Mariposa. • Vandalism was investigated on Buckeye Creek Road in Mariposa. • A stolen vehicle was reported on Buckeye Creek Road in Mariposa. • Petty theft was reported on Ernst Road in Greeley Hill. • Petty theft was reported on Texas Hill Road in Greeley Hill.
Sept. 25 – Trespassing was reported on Ferry Road in Coulterville. • There was a burglary on Smith Station Road in Greeley Hill.
Sept. 26 – Animal cruelty was reported on Highway 49 South in the Ponderosa Basin areas. • Illegal dumping was reported on Old Toll Road in Mount Bullion.
Sept. 27 – There was a burglary reported on St. Andrews Road in Mariposa. • A missing person was reported on Highway 140 in Midpines. • Illegal dumping was investigated on Hormiga Way in Don Pedro. • And assault and battery was reported on Highway 140 in Catheys Valley.
The above listed calls are actual reports to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. These are just a sampling of recent calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal with, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
