JAIL BOOKING REPORT
Here are some of the highlights from the recent booking reports at the Mariposa County Jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Aug. 24 – Bart James Lewis, 66, Mariposa, was arrested for disorderly conduct/under the influence of drugs.
Aug. 25 – No bookings.
Aug. 26 – Taylor Nathaniel Stofflet, 27, Coulterville, was arrested for assault with a firearm, corporal injury to a spouse, felon in possession of a firearm, being prohibited from owning ammunition, threatening a crime, destroying or concealing evidence, contempt of court, violation of a domestic violence court order.
Aug. 27 – Daniel Rigoberto Castro Amaya, 27, Inglewood, was arrested in Yosemite National Park for DUI and open container in a moving vehicle. • Ricky Paul Ornelas, 45, Mariposa, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license and DUI any drug.
Aug. 28 – Nicole Lee Ureste, 49, Merced, was arrested for possession of unlawful paraphernalia. • Eric Tyrone Mearis, 47, Merced, was arrested for possession of unlawful paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Aug. 29 – Susan Louise Preucil, 69, Selma, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Aug. 30 – Brandon Gerald Jourdan, 44, La Grange, was arrested for possession of unlawful paraphernalia and disorderly conduct: alcohol. • Sergio Rene Beltran-Garrido, 22, Oakland, was arrested for two counts of DUI.
SHERIFF’S REPORT
Aug. 24 – There was a suspicious person on Trabucco Street in Mariposa. • Identity theft was reported on 10th Street in Mariposa. • A juvenile in violation of the law was reported on County Park Road in Mariposa. • Trespassing was alleged on Carleton Road in Mariposa. • A suspicious person was reported on Highway 132 in Coulterville.
Aug. 25 – A burglary was investigated on Holtzel Road in Greeley Hill. • Trespassing was reported on Highway 49 North in Mariposa. • There was a suspicious vehicle on West Whitlock Road in Mariposa. • A burglary was investigated on Live Oak Road in Mariposa. • A rape was reported on Hospital Road in Mariposa.
Aug. 26 – There was a suspicious vehicle on Italian Creek Road in Woodland. • A rape was reported on Hites Cove Road in Jerseydale. • There were suspicious circumstances on Hidalgo Street in Don Pedro. • Harassment was investigated on East Whitlock Road in Mariposa. • Illegal dumping was reported on Harris Road approximately a 1/2 mile south of Stagecoach in Ponderosa Basin.
Aug. 27 – There were suspicious circumstances reported on Jalapa Way in Don Pedro. • Trespassing was reported on Highway 49 North in Mariposa. • Harassment was investigated on Violeta Way in Don Pedro.
Aug. 28 – Harassment was reported on Watt Road in Ponderosa Basin. • Child abuse was alleged on Main Street in Coulterville. • An assault and battery was reported on 8th Street in Mariposa. • Trespassing was reported on Smith Road in Mariposa.
Aug. 29 – Harassment was reported on Ernst Road in Greeley Hill. • Assault and battery was investigated on Watt Road in Ponderosa Basin. • Trespassing was reported on Penon Blanco Road in Greeley Hill. • Child abuse was investigated on Smith Road in Mariposa. • A burglary was reported on Hornitos Road in Hornitos.
Aug. 30 – A burglary was reported on Lavender Hill Road in Bootjack. • A stolen vehicle reported was investigated on Avenue C in Don Pedro. • Grand theft was reported on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • Illegal dumping was investigated on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • Harassment was alleged on Watt Road in Ponderosa Basin.
The above listed calls are actual reports to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. These are just a sampling of recent calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal with, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
