JAIL BOOKING REPORT

Here are some of the highlights from the recent booking reports at the Mariposa County Jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Aug. 17 – No bookings.

Aug. 18 – Thomas Riley Norlund, 34, Mariposa, was arrested for obstructing a public officer, giving false ID to police, assault, spousal battery, shoplifting and petty theft.

Aug. 19 – No bookings.

Aug. 20 – No bookings.

Aug. 21 – No bookings.

Aug. 22 – Kayla Danielle Hillhouse, 35, Ahwahnee, was arrested for felony possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. • David Charles Baldwin, 59, Midpines, was arrested for corporal injury to a spouse.

Aug. 23 – David Lawrence Carey, 61, Mariposa, was arrested for disorderly conduct: alcohol. • Chad Everett Warren, 49, Cedar Valley, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear and driving on a suspended license. • Robert Erik Bruner, 28, Coulterville, was arrested for DUI: alcohol and driving on a suspended license.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

Aug. 17 – Petty theft was reported on 10th Street in Mariposa. • A report of a reckless driver was investigated on Catheys Valley Drive in Catheys Valley. • Trespassing was reported on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • Suspicious circumstances were reported on Banderilla Drive in Don Pedro.

Aug. 18 – There were suspicious circumstances reported on Barrett Cove Road in Don Pedro. • Child molesting allegations were investigated on Highway 14o in Mariposa. • There was a suspicious person on Hidalgo Street in Don Pedro. • Trespassing was reported on Shetland Lane in Greeley Hill. • Fraud was investigated on Ben Hur Road in Mariposa. • A report of child abuse was investigated on 10th Street in Mariposa. • A burglary was reported on East Westfall Road in Ponderosa Basin.

Aug. 19 – Child molesting allegations were investigated on Highway 14o in Mariposa. • There was an assault and battery on Ashworth Road in Mariposa. • Trespassing was reported on Moss Creek Lane in Ponderosa Basin. • Vandalism was investigated at Penon Blanco Road and Granite Springs Road in Don Pedro. • Petty theft was reported on Hornitos Road in Hornitos.

Aug. 20 – Grand theft was reported on Italian Creek Road in Woodland. • Trespassing occurred on Sherlock Road in Midpines. • There was a suspicious vehicle on Greeley Hill Road in Greeley Hill.

Aug. 21 – Petty theft was investigated at Penon Blanco Road and Granite Springs Road in Don Pedro. • There was domestic disturbance on Banderilla Drive in Don Pedro. • Harassment was reported on Carrizo Way in Don Pedro. • Unsafe shooting was reported on Evergreen Lane in Mariposa.

Aug. 22 – There was a report of harassment on Ernst Road in Greeley Hill. • Vandalism was reported on East Westfall Road in Ponderosa Basin. • Fraud was investigated on Oak Woods Court in Catheys Valley. • There was a suspicious vehicle on Texas Hill Road in Greeley Hill.

Aug. 23 – Vandalism was reported on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • The coroner was called to Usona Road in Mariposa. • Harassment was reported on Carrizo Way in Don Pedro. • A burglary was investigated on Totokon Road in Mariposa. • Child abuse was investigated on Main Street in Coulterville.

The above listed calls are actual reports to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. These are just a sampling of recent calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal with, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
