JAIL BOOKING REPORT

Here are some of the highlights from the recent booking reports at the Mariposa County Jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 26 – No bookings to report.

Jan. 27 – Juan Figueroa Soto, 37, Coulterville, was arrested for corporal injury to a spouse and violation of a court order involving domestic violence. • Christopher Parker Duarte, 40, Mariposa, was arrested for driving under a restricted license due to driving under the influence, driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.

Jan. 28 – No bookings to report.

Jan. 29 – Matthew Anthony Tilton, 36, Merced, was arrested for failure to register or update information as a sex offender, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and failure to update residence information.

Jan. 30 – Kenneth Richard Clark, 44, Mariposa, was arrested for driving under the influence with priors, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher and driving under a suspended license due to driving under the influence. • Michael Richard Smith, 60, Mariposa, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, destroying or concealing evidence and receiving known stolen property.

Jan. 31 – Matthew Hiram Chenot Jr., 31, Mariposa, was arrested for operating a vehicle without due care, operating a vehicle while under the influence and driving under a suspended license due to driving under the influence in Yosemite National Park. • Michael Allan Burtness, 65, Wawona, was arrested for failing to comply with sex offender registration laws.

Feb. 1 – No bookings to report.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

Jan. 26 – A domestic disturbance occurred on Jones Street in Mariposa. • An ambulance was requested on Violeta Way in Don Pedro. • A juvenile refusing to obey was reported on Woodland Drive in Mariposa. • Petty theft occurred on Hursh Lane in Greeley Hill. • Trespassing was reported on Yaqui Gulch in Mariposa.

Jan. 27 – A welfare check was requested on St. Andrews Road in Mariposa. • Vandalism occurred on Indian Rock Lane in Bootjack. • Violation of a court order occurred on Joe Howard Street in Mariposa. • Driving under the influence occurred on Trailer Court Road in El Portal. • A fire was reported on Dogtown Road in Coulterville.

Jan. 28 – Disturbing the peace occurred on Sherrod Road in Bootjack. • A healthy and safety violation was reported on Bumguardner Mountain Road in Mariposa. • Assault/ battery occurred on Joe Howard Street in Mariposa. • Reckless driving was reported on Allred Road in Bootjack. • Harassment occurred on Joe Howard Street in Mariposa.

Jan. 29 – A juvenile was refusing to obey on Old Highway North in Mariposa. • A stolen vehicle was reported on Chase Ranch in Mariposa. • Child molestation was reported on Alameda Court in La Grange. • A call involving sex offender registration occurred on Sierra Drive in Greeley Hill. • A fire was reported on Triangle Road in Midpines.

Jan. 30 – A house check was requested on Usona Road in Woodland. • Harassing by way of electronic communication occurred on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • Lost property was reported on Ben Hur and Silver Bar Road in Mariposa. • A juvenile was refusing to obey on 10th Street in Mariposa. • An animal was reported on Sebastopol Road in Bootjack.

Jan. 31 – A suspicious vehicle was reported on Clouds Rest in Mariposa. • An animal was reported on Highway 140 in Mariposa. • A welfare check was requested on Millbrow Lane in Greeley Hill. • A traffic stop occurred on Clouds Rest in Mariposa. • Disturbing the peace was reported on Pine Drive in Greeley Hill.

Feb. 1 – A burglar alarm was reported on Ponderosa Court in Ponderosa Basin. • A welfare check occurred on 7th Street in Mariposa. • Harassment was reported on Gusanillo Court in Don Pedro. • Trespassing occurred on Usona Road in Woodland. • A scam was reported on Joe Howard Street in Mariposa.

The above listed calls are actual reports to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. These are just a sampling of recent calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal with, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
