Volleyball season is in full swing and the Mariposa County High School volleyball rosters are set.
Coached by Debbie Leonard this season, the JV roster includes Kenzie Allison, Tylie Allison, Jaysea Whitmire, Brylee Bean, Isabelle Remington, Aubree Robertson, Kylee Hutchings, Livie Twiss, Aiyana Sandoval and Jade Lust.
Holly Earling is heading up the varsity squad again this season .
The varsity team includes Sage Hawley, Kylie Williams, Abby Beery, Zoey Hofstee, Chloe King, Mia Hansen, Allie Casner, Emma Pioske, Grace Beery, Gillian Pioske, Taylor Krull and Izzy Whited.
Seniors this year include Hawley, Hansen and Whited.
After a handful of games, the varsity team holds a record of 4-2 as league games are quickly approaching.
“I really like where we are as a team for it being the beginning of the season,” Earling said.
Last week on Aug. 25, the Grizzlies hosted Central Valley at MCHS where both the JV and varsity teams came out with wins over the Hawks.

The JV team is looking sharp under coach Leonard as they ended the game quickly winning two sets to zero.
The varsity team didn’t let the Hawks have even an inch as they set the tone early.
The Grizzlies won the first set 25-9, followed by the second set 25-13 and finally the third set 25-16.
Next, the Grizzlies traveled to Hughson two days later on Aug. 27, to take the court against the Huskies.
Hughson took the win 3-0 over MCHS.
“We played a great game against Hughson even though we lost,” Earling said.
“There are a lot of things we can learn going forward.”
After the game against Hughson, the Grizzlies held a record of 4-2.
Next up, the varsity squad will head to the Golden Valley tournament over Sept.5-6.
Their first game of the weekend will be against Buhach Colony (3-3) on Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
