The Western Fairs Association (WFA) has announced the induction of Lowell Munn and Tom Williams into the 2026 WFA Hall of Fame, honoring two leaders whose influence, commitment and passion have left an enduring mark on the fair industry.
The inductees will be formally recognized during the Industry Awards Dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at the annual Western Fairs Association Convention & Trade Show, set for Jan. 18– 21 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev.
Affectionately known as the “Mariposa Dynamic Duo,” Munn and Williams have spent decades shaping the direction and spirit of the Mariposa County Fair and contributing significantly to the statewide fair network.
Their partnership began on the Mariposa County Fair Board of Directors, where shared purpose and complementary leadership styles forged a bond that has strengthened both their local fair and the broader fair community.
Munn entered the fair industry in the 1980s when he was appointed to the board of directors for the Mariposa County Fairgrounds (35th District Agricultural Association). His enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment quickly made him a respected presence at Mother Lode Area meetings and WFA events.
Over more than 40 years, Munn became a beloved figure within WFA and his hometown, culminating in the distinguished honor of having the Monday of the Mariposa Fair proclaimed “Lowell Munn Day.”
Williams joined the Mariposa board in the early 2000s and soon expanded his leadership statewide, serving many years on the WFA Board of Directors as the Mother Lode Area Representative.
Today, he continues to guide the Mariposa Fair as board president, advancing its mission with steady vision and deep community commitment.
Together, Munn and Williams exemplify the heart of the Western Fairs Association: service, leadership and a genuine passion for fairs and the communities they bring together.
Their legacy will continue to influence and inspire future generations throughout the fair industry.
“The Western Fairs Association is honored to welcome Lowell Munn and Tom Williams into the 2026 Hall of Fame,” said a statement from the fair group.
