The new Miwuk Museum and Cultural Center will officially open its doors to the public with a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The museum is located at 52A South Main Street in Angels Camp.

The community is invited to experience the brand-new, state-of-the-art museum, which will showcase powerful stories and stunning, never before-seen Miwuk historical exhibits.

This museum has been decades in the making and it is a culmination of incredible dedication and vision,” said Kristopher Mandell, Museum Director.

I am personally honored to be a part of this amazing project for the community. This center will be a vital resource for preserving and celebrating Miwuk history and culture for generations to come.

The day’s events will begin with an Opening Prayer at 10 a.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to take museum tours, view the significant Cooper Collection and explore the open library and archive.

A special conservation viewing area will also be accessible.

The grand opening will feature refreshments for all attendees. The museum’s gift shop will also be open.

This event marks the first time these exhibits will be showcased, offering a unique opportunity to journey through the living history and culture of the Miwuk people.
