Before the first play and long after the crowd settles into the stands, the Mariposa County High School cheerleaders are on the sidelines, ready to bring the energy.
This year, MCHS has both JV and varsity cheer teams.
At every game, the cheerleaders lead chants, celebrate big plays and work to keep the crowd loud for the football players on the field. Their work can sometimes be overlooked, but that has never stopped them from showing up and giving the team their all.
The cheerleaders cannot create that game-day energy alone.
They are asking the Mariposa County community to come to the games, join in the cheers and keep the noise going, even when the game gets tough. The players deserve to hear their community behind them.
So when you hear a cheer start from the sidelines, cheer along. The louder the stands get, the more the boys know Mariposa is there for them.
Team members are Maddie Cole, Jordyn Ramirez, Vera Smerber, Adelina Garcia, Sierra Smith, Chloe Wilson, Mylah Clubb, Lulu Wolf, Kaylee Wetmore, Gianna Garcia, Harmony Fournier, Kelsie Hagen, Mia Ramos, Jennifer Strange, Lunah Trygsland and Stella Dubois.
