Applications are now open for the second annual Mariposa Youth Business Fair.

The event will take place on May 18 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. on the Mariposa County Courthouse lawn.

The Mariposa Children’s Business Fair is an opportunity for children to launch their very own startup business and discover their inner entrepreneur.

Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy and then open for customers at the one-day marketplace.

The event provides young entrepreneurs, ages six-17, the perfect opportunity to showcase their creativity and business skills by selling their unique goods.

It’s a fun and valuable experience for kids to learn about entrepreneurship while connecting with their community.

Why should kids participate?

The event is free and youth get the opportunity to experience running a business while earning some money in the process.

Kids get the opportunity to interact with others and make new friends while gaining leadership experience and sharpening their social skills.

Applications must be submitted online and one application needs to be submitted for each business.

Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information.

There is a maximum of three children allowed per group.

This event is sponsored by Mariposa Dream Builders, Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business and the support of donors and volunteers.

For more information, sponsorship opportunities or to apply, visit www.childrensbusinessfair.org or the group’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554993912860
