As Mariposa Soccer League reaches the midpoint of futsal season, they would like to take a moment to reflect on just how proud they are of the players and the progress they have made in a short amount of time.

Week after week, organizers have seen meaningful growth — not only in technical skills such as ball control, decision-making and spatial awareness, but also in confidence, teamwork and overall understanding of the game.

The intensity and fast pace of futsal has pushed players to adapt quickly and it has been exciting to watch that development unfold on the court.

The league is especially grateful to the Mariposa Alternative Education School for the use of their gym and for them providing a welcoming and reliable space for the season.

Having access to a quality indoor facility has been essential to creating a consistent training environment and MSL sincerely appreciates the support that makes this program possible.

Looking ahead, the group is excited to share that Mariposa Soccer League will be taking a few teams to a new NorCal futsal playdate.

This event will give players the opportunity to compete against other NorCal clubs and test their skills in a fresh, challenging environment.

Each team will play three matches in one day, offering valuable game experience and exposure to different styles of play — an important step in continued player development.

Beyond futsal, the league is already preparing for spring soccer, which will kick off after the new year in January.

MSL is looking forward to building on the momentum from this season and organizers encourage families to stay tuned for announcements about free training clinics in January.

These clinics will be an important opportunity for players to get on the field, meet coaches and help the league build strong rosters for the spring season.

At this time, the league is hopeful to field the following teams this spring:

• 2014/15 Boys
• 2014/15 Girls
• 2016/17 Boys
• 2018 Boys
• 2018 Girls

If there is sufficient interest, MSL would also like to pursue 2012 Boys and 2012 Girls teams to represent Mariposa Soccer League in NorCal competition this spring.

Organizers thanked the players, families, coaches and community partners for the continued support.

The growth the league is seeing this futsal season is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved and organizers are excited for what lies ahead.
