The Mariposa County Library is taking flight this spring starting with now offering birding backpacks for library card holders to check out.
Children and adults alike can spread their wings and explore the art of bird watching.
These ready-for-flight kits come with multiple sizes of binoculars along with birding and trail guides.
The backpacks will first debut March 12 at the Mariposa Branch for a few weeks before migrating to each library branch throughout the county.
“This spring we have several events tied to birding, the outdoors, and overall health,” said Mariposa County Librarian Matt Johnson. “We are excited to offer these as an item people can take out on the trails with them.”
To learn more, stop into the library at 4978 10th Street, or call (209) 966-2140.
“Whether you are an early bird eager to get out on the trails this season or simply looking to wing a weekend trip, these backpacks will turn every stroll into a soaring adventure,” said Johnson.
