With the local economy being the lead story this week, we thought it appropriate to feature this photo from our archives. This shows the business community in Mariposa circa 1881. Clothing, dry goods and much more were being sold along the main road in those days. Though some of the same is true today, it’s also safe to say today’s economy centers around Yosemite National Park.
