Mariposa FFA member Emmett Wise has been named the Merced–Mariposa FFA Sectional Beef Entrepreneurship Proficiency Winner, earning him a spot at the regional level of competition.
Wise received the honor for his outstanding work in his market and breeding beef Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects. Through these projects, he has demonstrated exceptional commitment to record-keeping, business management and animal care, tracking detailed hours, expenses and income throughout the year.
The Beef Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award recognizes students who operate successful agricultural businesses while gaining real-world experience in financial responsibility and livestock production.

As the sectional winner, Wise will now advance to the regional round, where he will compete against top FFA members from across the region.
