Margaret “Elaine” Parrish, born to Alexander and Gwendolyn Chrichton on May 27, 1940, passed away on Jan. 14, 2026.

She was 85 when she went to be with the Lord.

Elaine was raised in Bell, Calif., and met her late husband, Wayne “Dick” Parrish of 61 years at Bell High School.

She and Dick raised their sons, Richard and Robert, in Downey, Calif., before moving to Mariposa where they then raised their two granddaughters, Heather and Jennifer.

Elaine had the gift for organizing events, from dinners at church, putting on shows for TOPS area events, helping her husband, Dick, with wedding ceremonies and hosting lots of parties at her home.

Elaine loved to play the piano. She was a piano player at the Ponderosa Basin Chapel from the time she moved to Mariposa until her passing. Elaine also played at the Woodland Elementary School kindergarten class and loved every minute of it.

She leaves behind her sons, Rich (Helen) and Rob; granddaughters, Heather (Matt), Jennifer, Tessarra and Devereaux; great-grandchildren Ezra, Melanie and Roxanne ( Jennifer) and Mary and Emily (Heather); step-grandson Derek (Allison); step-granddaughter, Megan (Brandon); sister-in-law, Gloria; and nephews Mike, Mark and Mitch.

She was well loved and will be missed by many.

A celebration of live service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Ponderosa Basin Chapel. Light refreshments will be provided following the service.

Let’s celebrate Elaine’s life.
