The Mariposa Democratic Club will be hosting the first in a series of meetings addressing “The State of the County.

The meetings are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month and start at 10 a.m. The meetings are designed to give the community an opportunity to hear directly from county officials and ask questions about local government and public services.

The first meeting will be held on Jan. 10 at the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors chambers in the Mariposa County Government Center at 1008 10th Street in Mariposa.

District Attorney Walter Wall will provide an update on the District Attorney’s Office, including key successes from the past year and the ongoing challenges facing the office.

Matt Johnson, Mariposa County’s Head Librarian, will share highlights from the library over the last year and discuss plans and priorities for the future.

This is an opportunity to learn more about the local government and to ask your questions of local agency representatives.
