In the spirit of Hank Williams, Jr.: Are you ready for some football?
The Mariposa County Library is. The library will be resuming its Football Club in September after starting it for the first time last fall.
The club is open to anyone in the community, of any age. It meets every Monday at 3 p.m. at the library until the end of football season.
This year, the club will host its first meeting on Monday, Sept.14.
The club chats about the latest action in college and professional football. It is led by local sports enthusiast and Mariposa County High School athletic director Trace DeSandres.
Participants are invited to bring their opinions, observations, and hot takes to the group for a wide-ranging discussion. Those who attend do not need to be football experts to enjoy the club.
At the end of each meeting, the participants are invited to share their power rankings and their predictions for the Monday night games.
Each meeting goes 30-45 minutes and usually there are around 10 people who attend. It is free to attend. Registration is not required.
