Larry Macdonald, formerly of Mariposa, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 17, 2025, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 101.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Macdonald. He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Macdonald of Austin, Texas; and Phyllis (Ray) Smith of Livingston, Texas; and five grandchildren: Isaac and (Beth) Smith of Gilroy, Calif.; Andrea and (Frankie) Cheung of Atascadero, Calif.; Amy and (Ryan) Jimenez-Williams of Burbank, Calif.; Christy and (Bobby) Kritzer of Atascadero, and Candice and ( Jordan) Van Horn of Atascadero, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Larry graduated from International College in Fort Wayne, Ind., in business accounting. He married the love of his life, Dolores, in 1948. They were married 67 years.

Larry worked as a cost accountant for Motorola in Phoenix, Ariz., and retired in 1985. In their retirement years, he and Dolores escaped the Arizona summers by traveling all over the USA in their RV for 10 years.

Larry was an active member of Scottsdale Baptist Church in Scottsdale, Ariz. (now New Life Community Church) for 47 years, and served on many committees.

After the death of his wife in 2015, he moved to Mariposa to live with his daughter, Phyllis (and Ray) Smith where he attended First Baptist Church of Mariposa. He again relocated to Austin, Texas, in 2018, to live with his daughter, Cheryl Macdonald, and attended Crestview Baptist Church.

He and his wife, Dolores, founded D & L Tract Ministry in 1952, a nonprofit organization for the purpose of distributing gospel literature. They produced over six million tracts of 12 different titles which were distributed around the world in over 27 languages.

Larry enjoyed playing Mah jong, dominoes and other games with friends and family. He enjoyed conversations with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on Zoom calls.

He loved seeing and holding each new great-grandchild and faithfully sent each of them a card on their birthday. He is loved and missed by all.
