The Mariposa County Schools Foundation, (also known as Kids First) has just completed its fall cycle of mini grants.

Four teachers from Sierra Foothill Charter School received over $2,400 in grants for materials to enhance student learning in their classrooms.

This cycle is one of three each year. Two cycles are mini grants (September and January), up to $750 per request and one is a large grant opportunity (October), with submissions of up to $3,000.

These grants are available to all public school teachers in Mariposa County.

Other schools receiving grants this cycle are Mariposa County High School, Mariposa Elementary, Monarch Academy, Woodland Elementary and Yosemite Valley Elementary.

These total grants awarded came to $9,595.

Last year Kids First awarded over $46,000 in grants to Mariposa County teachers.

The non-profit raises funds through memberships, generous donations from local businesses and community members as well as an annual fundraiser at the Jerseydale Ranch in June.
