Kevin Dale Autrand, 67, passed away at his home in Mariposa on July 23, 2026.

Kevin was born on Feb. 4, 1959, in Merced. He attended Madera High School before moving with his parents to Mariposa, where he began working as a logger.

In 1981, he founded Clearwater Pool Service in Merced, a business he proudly owned and operated until his passing. Kevin earned the respect and trust of his customers through his honesty, exceptional knowledge and unwavering work ethic. To those who knew him, he was dependable, genuine and always willing to lend a helping hand.

On Dec. 1, 1990, Kevin married Denise Kostecky. Together, they blended their family with her two sons and later welcomed two daughters, Julie Ann Autrand and Courtney Elizabeth Autrand.

Kevin always had a love for adventure and the outdoors. In his younger years, he competed in many dirt bike races and his passion for riding stayed with him throughout his life. Whether it was a new bike or his next riding trip, he was always looking forward to his next adventure.

Beyond riding, he was also an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and an excellent cook. At home, you could often find him cooking up a good meal, enjoying a few beers and listening to all his favorite songs.

His greatest joy was being “Papa.Courtney blessed him with four grandchildren: Brayden, Nash, Stella and Isla. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially the many adventures he shared with his oldest grandson, Brayden. His love for his family was constant, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Carolyn Autrand of Merced; his wife, Denise Autrand; and his daughter, Julie Ann Autrand.

He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Autrand; his grandchildren, Brayden, Nash, Stella and Isla; his stepsons, Joshua Bartlett and Jordan Helm of Merced; his brother, Randal Autrand of Merced; his sister, Julie Autrand of Ahwahnee; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date.
