Keith Edward Bauman, 85, died on Oct. 21, 2025 in Coulterville.

He was born on Feb. 29, 1940.

He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many people.

He leaves behind his wife, Helen; sons, Jeffery Bauman (Ada) of Cameron Park, Calif., and Steven Bauman (Karla) of Rockwell, Texas.

He was “Chicken Pop” to his four grandchildren: Isabelle, Gabrielle, Tyler and Nicholas. Keith is also survived by his brother, Dennis Bauman and sister Karen Cardoza.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bauman and mother, Betty Bauman Mason.

Keith was manager of Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union for 40 years and retired in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a lover of all animals, especially his dogs and all the wildlife and birds on their property.

The family ranch in Coulterville had been Keith’s home for 52 years and it is where he and his beloved wife of 60 years cherished spending their time with family and friends.

A private family service will be held in honor of Keith’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Mariposa County at mariposaspca.org.
