J.D. Drosche went home to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 26, 2025.

He was a godly Christian man who spent his life caring for others. He loved introducing his children and grandchildren to the outdoors he enjoyed so much and teaching them his crafts.

He built many structures in his life including custom homes. His three sons followed in his footsteps.

J.D. was born on Nov. 4, 1942, to Arnold August and Evie Bell Drosche. He had one brother, two sisters and many close cousins. His parents raised their children on a farm where they had wonderful childhoods and learned respect and responsibility.

The family moved to Austin, Texas, when J.D. was a young man and there he met Margaret Ann Young, whom he married on Feb. 16, 1963. They had three sons — Andy, Jon and Jason — and thereafter adding many adopted children to the loving home.

Having spent more of his life in Texas, Drosche moved his family to Coarsegold 35 years ago. During those years he was a member of Coarsegold Reformed Fellowship, where he was a trustee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Alton (Sonny), sisters Mildred Marshall and Joyce McDonald, several cousins, his son Andy and daughters Rachel, Anna Leigh and Laura.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Ann; his sons, Jon Drosche (Tammy) and Jason Drosche (Lawana) of Goldthwaite, Tex., John Drosche of Marble Falls, Will Drosche (Kathryn) of Coarsegold; daughters Shruti Childs (Mike) of Marlin, Tex., Jackie (Mac) of Elk City, Okla.; children Linda, Becky, Joel, Kevin, Sharon, Mike, Vaughn, Jared, Robbie and Christian Drosche, all of Coarsegold; brother-in-law Gaddy McDonald of Gatesville, Tex.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

J.D. was delighted to be called Granddaddy.

Funeral services were held Nov. 1 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite followed by a private family burial. Arrangements were made by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.

A memorial is in the planning stages for the foothills and will be announced when scheduled.
