FFA continues to shine as they win competition awards

The Mariposa County High School welding team kicked off the season in Gridley on Dec. 5.

Carmine Sandavol, Cody Poor, Ben Lingenfelter and Mason Sinclair represented Mariposa FFA with grit and talent, bringing home second place overall.

Sandoval and Lingenfelter earned top five finishes in multiple sub contests and Poor placed sixth high individual.

On Dec. 6, Mariposa FFA hosted their own local contest, which was nothing but successful.

The group thanked community members for volunteering their time to judge and support this event, as well as the students both from the Mariposa chapter and across the community for setting up, running stations and staying to clean up.

And of course, they thanked the advisors for the countless hours they put into making the day possible.

With over 250 people in attendance, many experiencing their very first contest.
