Craig Joseph Meacham — Aug. 31, 1952 – Oct. 2, 2025
As the first anniversary of Craig Joseph Meacham’s passing approaches, his family wishes to honor his memory and the nearly four decades he spent as part of the Mariposa community.
Craig passed away at home on Oct. 2, 2025, at the age of 73.
For nearly 40 years, Craig called Mariposa home. During that time, he raised a family, followed his many passions, built a business and formed friendships and connections that spanned generations.
Craig lived life on his own terms. He was an entrepreneur, musician, writer and lifelong creative whose interests were as varied as the experiences that shaped him.
Music was one of Craig’s lifelong passions, and the bass guitar was the instrument he loved most. He also enjoyed fishing, meaningful conversations and sharing his many life experiences with others.
Craig will be remembered as thoughtful, philosophical, determined and deeply generous. Family was central to his life.
As the eldest of seven children, his sense of responsibility for those he loved began early and remained with him throughout his life.
Craig’s legacy continues through his children, Joel Meacham, Vanessa Zick, Spencer Meacham and Lillian Corley, as well as his grandchildren, Austin and Makia.
We hope those who came to know Craig during his many years in Mariposa will help preserve the stories and memories of the life he shared. Friends, neighbors and community members are invited to visit Craig’s online memorial to share a memory, story or photograph with his family:
