Editor,

Cowboy poetry is alive and well in Mariposa!

Come join us for our Second Annual Cowboy Poetry gathering at the Cowboy Day Celebration on March 22, sponsored by the Mariposa Museum and History Center.

The theme of this year’s gathering is “Where history meets history.

We have a talented group of local poets to entertain you this year with classic and original poetry and music of the Old West. The gathering begins at 1 p.m., and is located in the Carriage House Meeting Room below the Museum.

Come help us celebrate our western heritage, and our cowboys, past and present. This year’s poets are Wendy Brown, emcee/poet; Bob Barrett, retired Yosemite Wrangler, poet and author of the book “Where Mules Wear Diamonds;” Mike Standen, poet and local resident of Mariposa since 1968 and Gary Gragnani, musician and poet.
