On Feb. 11, 2026, Constance Ann Hammersley (Connie) passed from this life into eternity with Jesus.

Connie was born to Kenny and Marilyn Knierim in Gowrie, Iowa, on June 22, 1944.

When in high school her family moved to Southern California where she met and married Frank Hammersley.

Connie and Frank had three children together, Jeff, Daniel and Holly. In 1972 the family moved to Mariposa. After her divorce, Connie and her children remained in Mariposa.

Connie is most widely known for her many years working for Caltrans as a flag lady. She loved this job and enjoyed doing her best to help those waiting in the line to pass the time quickly with a smile or a friendly conversation.

Connie was a devoted mother, working hard to support her family and doing what she could to be involved in school and sporting activities with her children. Her home was open to the many of her kids’ friends and to many of them she was a “second mom.

Constance was preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn, Kenny and her stepfather Leo Giocomarra.

She is survived by her siblings, Sandy Conrad, Judy Ambroson and Leo Giocomarra; her children, Jeff Hammersley, Daniel and Ludmila Hammersley, and Holly and Joe Temte; her grandchildren, Cassandra and Thomas Crowley, Lauren Temte, Joe and Jessica Temte, Lena and Slava and Nadya and Kostya; and 10 great grandchildren.

Please join us in celebrating Constance’s life on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at 3 p.m. at New Life Calvary Chapel, 5089 Cole Road, Mariposa.

We will share a potluck meal following the celebration in the gym.
