Clyde Arlo Lantz passed peacefully with loved ones surrounding him on Aug. 21, 2024 at the age of 96.

Clyde is survived by his son, Cliff Lantz of Fort Jones, Calif.; his daughter, Cindy Kiely of Mariposa; daughter, Holly Stockman of Menlo Park, Calif.; his grandchildren, Dale, Scotty, D’Ann Kiely, Julie Mitchell, Nathan Lantz, Lindsay and Lauren Stockman; his great-grandchildren, Ashley Fritsen, Dustin Lane and Juliet Kiely and Claire Kiely; and his great-great-granddaughter, Jade Fritsen.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Susan Lantz, his loving wife of 56 years, Annette Lantz, and his three brothers and two sisters.

Clyde was born in Wisconsin on Oct. 5, 1927, then moved to Minnesota and then they landed in Van Nuys, Calif., when he was a freshman in high school.

Clyde joined the Navy when he was 18 and spent four years as a postman; he was also married to his first wife, and they had their son Cliff. He then married his loving wife Annetta on Aug. 30, 1952 and they had their two daughters, Cindy and Holly.

 

 

Clyde and the family moved to Mariposa in 1959 until 1970, when they moved to Half Moon Bay and then to Paso Robles until they finally settled in Mariposa for good in the 1980s.

Clyde became a member of the Masonic Lodge #24 in 1963 and was a worshipful master for several years throughout his life. He was also a Hiram Award winner and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge #24.

He was also a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church of Mariposa.

Services for Clyde will be held on Dec. 14, 2024, at the Masonic Lodge of Mariposa starting at 1 p.m. Please come join us in celebrating and remembering his life.
