It’s always a great feeling to win, but it’s an even better feeling when you achieve a season high score.
The Mariposa High School Grizzlies varsity baseball team did exactly that last week when they won over the Knights at Stone Ridge Christian 19-3.
MCHS had contributors across the scoresheet as Reid Allison had two hits, two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases.
Ben Johnson had one hit and one RBI while Barclae Sandoval had two hits, one run and three RBI.
Laten Butler had one hit, four stolen bases and four runs for the Grizzlies.
Drew Canter had one RBI while senior Brayden Getty had one hit, one run, two RBI and two stolen bases.
Carmine Sandoval had one hit, two runs and three stolen bases.
Bodie Hagan had a night with two hits, two runs, one RBI and one stolen base.
Brady Arebalo had a hit, scored two runs and had two RBI.
Ben Lingenfelter continued to contribute in a big way with two hits, three runs and three stolen bases.

Freshman Ez Weiland’s athleticism continues to show as he had two hits, three RBI, scored two runs and stole one base.
On April 7, the two teams had a rematch at MCHS.
The Grizzlies came out on top again winning 10-0.
Butler had two hits, one run, two RBI, a double and two stolen bases.
Lingenfelter had three hits, one run, one RBI and a double along with two stolen bases.
“They played well,” said coach Josh Collins.
“These are good games to sharpen our tools.”
The Grizzlies really gained momentum in the third inning when they scored eight of their 10 runs.
“They really got going in the third,” Collins said.
“There’s a lot of details we need to continue to work on if this team wants to win the league title but they did a great job tonight.”
After the win against Stone Ridge Christian (0-8 in league), the Grizzlies held a record of 6-2 in league.
The Grizzlies hosted Modesto Christian on April 8 at MCHS.
Results were not available at press time.
Next up, the Grizzlies will travel to Modesto Christian to face the Crusaders for a second time this week on April 10.
Game time is 4 p.m.
