Undefeated so far, the Yosemite High School girls volleyball team is having a very successful season with a 10-0 league record at press time.
“This team has really come together this season and has persevered through tough matches to be (leading) in the NWSC league,” said Coach Michelle Chenowith.
“Our three returning players — Toni Devito, Taylor Chastain and Kyleigh Phillips — have really shown leadership bringing together such a wide variety of grades on the team. And their skills are the backbone of the team.”
Chenowith said middle hitters Alyssa Misa and Tannon Vaughn dominate and are “truly the best in the league.”
The coach also lauded newcomers to the Badgers’ team.
“London Reden’s defense and serve receive, Bayleigh Bowers’ attach and attitude, Maya Ceja’s team spirit and serve, Holly Vanlandingham’s block and versatility, Violet Vasquez’s setting and serve, Athena Medina Pence’s blocking and attacking, Tori Hampton’s defense and tricky attack, Lily Ann Larsen with her consistent skills overall and Ryley Flaming’s athleticism and versatility have filled out the team to make it complete.”
