Back-to-back league champs receive awards and celebrate

After going undefeated as Southern League champs for the second consecutive year, celebrations were in order for the Grizzlies.

The Mariposa County High School volleyball team gathered at Miners Roadhouse last week to celebrate the season as well as each other.

The JV team passed out two awards, which were Most Improved: Brylee Bean and Most Valuable Player (MVP): Tylie Allison.

On the varsity side, Most Improved: Grace Beery; Defensive Player of the Year: Mia Hansen; Most Inspirational: Izzy Whited and Offensive Player of the Year was earned by Sage Hawley.

For the Southern League awards, Abby and Grace Beery earned an Honorable Mention.

Gillian Pioske, Mia Hansen, Sage Hawley and Izzy Whited all earned All-League honors.

Southern League MVP went to Emma Pioske who finished with 996 assists on the season and has surpassed 1700+ in her career so far.

In her junior year with another season to go, she had 90 aces and 150 plus in both kills and digs for the 2025-2026 season.

Emma Pioske ranked 16th in assists in the state of California over all divisions this year.
