Anisa Degerli crowned rodeo queen

The Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty for 2026-27 has been decided.

The competition came to a conclusion on Saturday, Aug. 8 following a dinner provided by the Mariposa Lions Club.

The evening was filled with excitement as contestants competed in the On-Stage/Modeling portion of the competition, answered impromptu questions and presented speeches based on this year’s Mariposa County Fair theme.

Throughout the competition, contestants were challenged in a variety of areas designed to showcase their horsemanship, knowledge, personality, confidence and ability to represent the Mariposa County Fair and Rodeo.

Competition elements included Horsemanship, Personal Interviews, Written Tests and the final On-Stage Performance.

After hours of hard work, preparation, and dedication — and once all scores were carefully tabulated — the 2026–27 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty was crowned.

“Congratulations to all six contestants on an incredible competition!” said officials who organized the competition.

“Each young lady should be proud of the time, effort, and dedication she put into this experience. They represented themselves, their families, and the Mariposa County Fair and Rodeo with enthusiasm and Western spirit,” officials added.

The newly crowned Rodeo Royalty will now be getting out into the community and make appearances leading up to the fair.

The outgoing royalty and newly crowned 2026–27 royalty will also be presented during the Mariposa County Fair Rodeo.
